School Board Candidate Portraits
Marcus Sorenson is a candidate running for CCISD School Board. He hired me to shoot portraits of him to use for his campaign materials recently. We chose the school administration building as a backdrop and did it in the evening when the front of the building was in the shade. It was all shot with available light.

Kemp's ridley turtle hatchling release
At dawn on June 28, I photographed an official release at Padre Island National Seashore of endangered Kemp's ridley sea turtle hatchlings. The Park Service incubates the eggs until they emerge from the nest, then releases them into the Gulf - and invites the public to witness it. This particular release came on the heels of BP Oil Spill funding being funneled towards PINS' turtle conservation program, so this clutch of hatchlings received more fanfare from the media than most.

Sailboat photo promotes Corpus
I shoot a lot of stock photos. Wherever I go, I create images as I see them unfold - sometimes totally unexpectedly and sometimes planned out. I keep files of my stock images and sell them to various clients, including the Corpus Christi Convention & Visitor's Bureau, which is using one of my stock photos on their "e-blast" sent out to all their contacts this week, promoting Corpus' "Beaches and Bayfront" ...

I Shot The Judge!
I shot portraits of Judge Nanette Hasette, who is running for reelection, at the Nueces County Courthouse this morning. We shot some photos outside in the early light with fill flash first, playing on the mod lines of the 1970s building. Then we did some interior set ups in her chambers afterwards. I shot them all in color digital but converted them to black-and-white.

A Conversation With Ken Burns
I shot photos during an hour-long interview that my sister, Ellen Green, did with documentary filmmaker Ken Burns in Amarillo on April 15 about his upcoming film, The Dustbowl. Ellen is the host of the weekly PBS TV talk show in Amarillo called "Face-To-Face." My 90-year-old mother, Pauline Durrett Robertson, is featured in Burns' film as someone who lived through The Dustbowl while growing up in the Texas Panhandle in the 1930s. So it was a real family affair and really interesting to get to meet Mr. Burns. He was in town to honor the people who appear in the film, which will air on PBS November 18 and 19. I shot the first photos at an event in Oklahoma where Burns spoke and gave the audience a sneak preview of his 2-part documentary. * View photos
